Losses Bounce Cal Lutheran From Softball Championship

Cal Lutheran’s first trip to the NAIA softball championship turned out to be a short one.
West Florida, the top-seeded team in the double-elimination tournament, defeated Cal Lutheran, 5-1, to eliminate the Regals. It was Cal Lutheran’s second loss Thursday at the Amateur Softball Assn. Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
In Cal Lutheran’s first-round game, Minnesota-Duluth rallied for three runs in the fifth to snap a 2-2 tie and defeat the Regals, 6-2.
Cal Lutheran, the ninth-seeded team in the tournament, finished the season with a 34-16 record.
