El Camino Real will play at Taft today in a tiebreaker to determine the final playoff representative from the West Valley League.
El Camino Real, which lost to third-place Cleveland, 5-4, Wednesday in its league finale, lost a coin flip to determine home-field advantage.
“We wanted to play on a neutral field,” El Camino Real Coach Mike Maio said. “But all the other teams were practicing for the playoffs.”
Taft (9-15, 5-10 in league play) has lost 10 of its past 12, including a 9-6 loss to Canoga Park Wednesday. El Camino Real (8-11, 5-10) spent much of the season in last place before salvaging a tie for fourth. The Conquistadores have defeated Taft twice in three games.
In the Mid-Valley League, Monroe visits Birmingham today to decide the No. 4 playoff team. The winner will face Poly, champion of the East Valley League, on Tuesday.
Birmingham won two of three league games from Monroe.
