Leach, Laguna Beach Advance to Third Round

Jonathan Leach extended his undefeated streak to 60 sets as Laguna Beach High School defeated Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks, 12-6, in the second round of the Southern Section 3-A tennis playoffs at Laguna Beach.

Leach, a freshman, swept his three sets, 7-5, 6-0, 6-2. In the third set, he defeated Art Thomloi, who was 39-0 entering the match.

In doubles play, John Young and Lee Kirner swept their sets, 6-4, 6-0, 6-0, for Laguna Beach (16-6).
