Captain Vigors Wins at Hollywood Park

Captain Vigors led all the way Thursday in winning the $55,000 feature race at Hollywood Park by a half-length over fast-finishing Mazilier before a crowd of 13,893.

Captain Vigors, ridden by Aaron Gryder, covered 1 1/16 miles on the turf course in 1:40 3/5 and paid $8.40, $4 and $3.

The victory was the third of the day for Gryder.

Corey Black recorded two victories, with one coming aboard 120-1 shot Mucho Picante in the sixth. Mucho Picante won the 6-furlong race for maiden fillies and mares in 1:11 4/5 and paid $243, $61.20 and $16.40.
