The Grove Theatre production of “Pump Boys and Dinettes,” which will open May 21 at the Gem Theatre in Garden Grove, already has been extended a week--through July 2--”because of strong advance ticket sales,” artistic director Thomas F. Bradac said Monday. It had been scheduled through June 25.
Bradac noted that single-ticket sales for the Grove’s current season are 30% higher than anticipated. The company had projected a box office gross of $140,000 in single (non-subscription) ticket sales but has sold $165,000 so far.
The theater fills about 35% of its seats with subscribers, he said. The goal is at least 70%.
