The trustees of the Capistrano Unified School District are expected to vote Monday on a plan to transfer some children from an elementary school in San Juan Capistrano to a predominantly Latino school nearby. About 150 parents of children attending Ambuehl Elementary School attended a recent board meeting to protest the plan. District officials say the transfer is necessary because Ambuehl has exceeded its capacity.
