Real estate agent Dawn Corney has been appointed to the Hawthorne Planning Commission to replace Barbara Workman, who resigned over what she called “a lack of openness and concern” by Commission Chairman Maurice Lee. Mayor Betty J. Ainsworth announced Corney’s appointment to the five-member advisory commission. Lee has declined to comment on Workman’s resignation.
