SAN SALVADOR — Unknown assassins early today gunned down El Salvador military court Judge Jorge Alberto Serrano, who was supervising two sensitive cases with political overtones, police said.
Serrano, 45, was killed at about 7 a.m. in front of his residence in central San Salvador after he had left his four children at school and was preparing to go to work. Serrano had been in charge of the “Pink Zone” massacre case in which urban guerrillas killed 13 people, including six Americans, at a sidewalk cafe in San Salvador in June, 1985.
