Lawyer Edward J. Atkinson was sentenced in U.S. District Court to five years in prison on conviction of perjury and securities fraud involving operation of Video Station Inc., a Los Angeles firm. His brother, George Atkinson, a pioneer in the videocassette business in the late 1970s, pleaded guilty to filing false financial reports and was sentenced earlier this month to three months in a community treatment center, five years probation and 2,000 hours of community service. The Atkinsons were top executives of Video Station until leaving in 1983.
