Dow Snaps Losing Streak

NEW YORK — Wall Street snapped a four-day losing streak today and put the blue-chip index just over 2,000, as investors cheered a decision by several major brokerage houses to give up computer-directed program trading.
The Dow Jones average of 30 industrials closed up 6.30 at 2,003.65.
New York Stock Exchange volume was about 131.20 million shares compared with 166.32million shares Monday.
