Use of Atomic Energy Plants

Physics Prof. Wilson is to be congratulated on the forthright statement in support of continued American application of technological principles associated with the advantages of electricity generated by nuclear reactors. America must grow.

In addition to his analysis of the positive lessons learned from the Chernobyl situation, he well might have dwelt on the advances being made to produce electricity at a lessened cost and with improved safety through fast neutron technology as exemplified by the “breeder reactors” now operating in France and the Soviet Union.

American liberals will harm us in a deadly manner if they continue to defeat efforts at technological progress by delays that either kill the scientific efforts or increase costs to the point of uneconomic feasibility. Our political processes must adapt and find solutions to this critical need.
