Local News in Brief : Fullerton : Cal State to Give 12 Special Scholarships
Cal State Fullerton President Jewel Plummer Cobb announced that 12 local high school students are receiving special scholarships designated by her office.
Ten high school students who are entering Cal State Fullerton in the fall will receive President’s Scholarships; two others will get President’s Opportunity Scholarships. Both types of scholarships are for $1,000 a year for four years of college. The scholarships are awarded “on the basis of the students’ superior academic and extracurricular performance,†the university said.
The 10 President’s Scholarship winners are: David L. Buck, Fullerton High; John Kuan Shen Chen and Steven D. Reeter, both of Garden Grove High; Eric J. Fano and Cristy G. Lomenzo, both of Esperanza High; Alexander B. MacInnis, Mater Dei High; Alison C. Quirion, Buena Park High; Jennifer M. Segletes, California High in Whittier; Stewart S. Vachal, Troy High, and Cynthia M. Wolf, El Dorado High.
The two President’s Opportunity Scholarship winners are Grace D. Garcia, Katella High, and Cindy M. Madrid, Rosary High.
