Compton Pitches Righetti to Title

Heather Compton recorded 15 strikeouts Saturday to lead Righetti High to a 2-0 win over Thousand Oaks in the championship game of the Thousand Oaks softball tournament.
Thousand Oaks defeated Notre Dame, 5-0, earlier Saturday to advance to the final. Alecia Zinner, a sophomore, allowed one hit and struck out 12 for the Lancers (20-7).
In the third-place game, Notre Dame (20-4) defeated St. Paul, 7-4, behind the pitching of Becca Berline.
Compton, who pitched two no-hitters and a one-hitter, was named tournament MVP.
