Lauds Positive Attitude

I wear three hats: developer, builder, architect--and I doff all of them to John McCafferty and his family.
I doubt if the new home will win any awards from the architectural community--but you get congratulations from me. It’s your money, John, and it sounds to me as though you’re having a darn good time. Your house project is a major step in your life--so have fun and stay positive. You may never get to design a hearth or move bathroom windows again.
So your “overall progress is excellent” and it’s clear that you’re “getting your money’s worth.” I think that’s because you decided to go in with a positive attitude. There are a lot of nice people in the industry--and I believe they work better and do more for the customer who shows a little trust, respect and enthusiasm.
When you move in, don’t be surprised when you get mysterious noises, dead pipes and strange leaks--they come with the franchise of an “original” and get corrected eventually. Don’t kick yourself. It happens whether your co-designer is named “Gary” or “Frank Lloyd.”
