Thousand Oaks 19, Camarillo 0--Thousand Oaks (19-6, 8-2) pounded out 22 hits in a Marmonte League game. Phronsie Franco was 4 for 6 and Amy Chellevold, Julie Chellevold and Diane Borck each had three hits.

North Hollywood 14, Verdugo Hills 4--Four hits by Leti Carranza helped the Huskies (11-3, 6-3) to an East Valley League win at home.

Simi Valley 10, Westlake 1--Chrissy Oliver threw a one-hitter for five innings, struck out nine and added a run-scoring double as the Pioneers held onto a share of first place in the Marmonte League.

Jaquie Ciraulo, Kelly Kauffman, Tammi Kauffman and Erika Rustan each had two hits for Simi Valley (19-7, 9-2).

Newbury Park 15, Channel Islands 0--The Panthers kept pace with Simi Valley with a Marmonte League win at home.

Marilyn Carroll pitched a two-hitter and Beth Calcante was 3 for 4, including a double and a triple, and had five RBIs.

Chatsworth 15, Monroe 3--The Chancellors clinched the North Valley League title with a win at home. Mara Phillips was 3 for 5 and had three RBIs and Julie Bedigian hit a double.

La Reina 3, Santa Ynez 2--Christa Grenat tripled and scored the winning run on Theresa Pasinosky’s suicide squeeze in the 10th inning of the Tri-Valley League game.

Sherri Sisco (10-3) tossed a one-hitter for La Reina.

Sylmar 7, San Fernando 1--The Spartans finished in second place in the North Valley League as Chris Parks was 3 for 4 and Deann Wright pitched a complete game.

Taft 6, Birmingham 5--The Toreadors remained in second place in the North Valley League as Ali Krebs and Robin Donish each hit run-scoring singles.

Reseda 10, Cleveland 1--Jeanne McDonald tossed a one-hitter and doubled as Reseda pounded out 16 hits.

Grant 21, Marshall 2--Liz Tingley pitched a two-hitter and Rowena Medel had three hits for Grant.

SWIMMING

Frontier League finals--Tony Kling won two events at Calabasas High to help Harvard to its second consecutive title.

Kling won the 100-yard freestyle, finished in a dead heat in the 50-yard freestyle with Skip Seeder and Scott Humphrey of Calabasas, and anchored Harvard’s win in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Jenny Bissell and Julie Parker each won two events to power Agoura to the girls’ title.

BASEBALL

Grace Community 9, Mesrobian 5--Jeff Fennell hit a two-run single to lead Grace Community.

Village Christian 2, L.A. Baptist 0--Scott Danielson’s two-run home run in the first inning accounted for all the runs in the Alpha League game.

BOYS’ TRACK

Foothill League finals--For the second year in a row, Bruce Luizzi of Burroughs won the 100 and 200 meters and ran legs on the victorious 400- and 1,600-meter relays.

Sante Fe League finals--Matt Corse of Bell-Jeff won three events at Cal State Northridge.

Corse won the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.88, the 300 intermediate hurdles in 41.56 and the triple jump with a mark of 44 feet, 11 inches.

GIRLS’ TRACK

San Fernando Valley League finals--Alemany’s Lisa Gill won three events at Cal State Northridge.

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Campbell Hall d. St. Monica, 15-9, 15-7, 15-6--Tim Sutton had 13 kills and Ty Leatherman added 22 assists and 18 service points to lead Campbell Hall to its first Camino Real League title.

San Gabriel d. Hart, 15-9, 15-12, 15-12--Rusty Fotheringham had 12 kills, but Hart finished its Golden League schedule with a loss.

TENNIS

Santa Barbara 13, Westlake 5--Todd Robinson and Mike Studebaker of Westlake each won two of three sets in the nonleague match.
