WELFARE IN ORANGE COUNTY : COUNTY MONTHLY RELIEF ALLOTMENTS

Monthly general relief grant allotments as of May 1. Alameda, San Diego and Santa Clara Counties were selected because their population and median household income figures are closest to Orange County. Grants are determined by the county board of supervisors or by adoption of the state’s assistance standards for Aid to Families with Dependent Children.

Alameda County--officials will review current allotments July 1 for possible increase.

Orange County--allotments for 1988 reflect a 5.2% increase effective July 1 as called for in the governor’s budget.

San Diego County--grant increases became effective April 15.

Santa Clara--officials anticipate grant increases around September 1, following approved Aid to Families with Dependent Children allotment increases.
