Top-Seeded Graham Advances in Tennis
Top-seeded Debbie Graham of Fountain Valley defeated Stephanie Reece of Indianapolis, 6-0, 6-4, to advance to the second round of the 18-and-under division of the Seventeen magazine Tournament of Champions at the Marguerite Recreation Center in Mission Viejo Wednesday.
In the same division, Julie Willett of Irvine lost to Jackie Moe of Minnesota, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.
In the 16-and-under division, Keri Phebus of Newport Beach upset No. 2 seed Erika deLone of Massachusetts, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.
Also in the 16-and-under division, Kimberly Chang of El Toro defeated Mindy Weiner of Illinois, 4-6, 6-1, 7-5.
In the 14-and-under division, Victoria Jarrell of Florida defeated Page Bartelt of Mission Viejo, 6-3, 6-1.
