Hungarian Gays to Get Official Group

BUDAPEST, Hungary — The government is about to set up an official organization to represent the country’s 500,000 homosexuals and inform them about AIDS, the Hungarian news agency MTI said on Wednesday.
Western analysts believe the national association Lambda-Homer, to be founded later this week for homosexuals and lesbians, will be the first official organization of its kind in Communist Eastern Europe.
MTI said it was made possible primarily by the need to spread information on acquired immune deficiency syndrome.
