Paramount : Water Main to Be Cut Off
Some Paramount residents could notice a slight drop in water pressure during a six-day period beginning Sunday, while a Metropolitan Water District of Southern California water main is relocated, city officials say.
The water district will shut down a 73-inch water main to the city starting at 6 p.m. Sunday. The main is being relocated in connection with the Century Freeway construction. A portion of the 17-mile freeway runs through the northern tip of Paramount.
Some water customers could notice the drop in pressure during high-use periods between 6 and 8 a.m., officials said. In the event water pressure drops drastically, an arrangement has been made to purchase water from Long Beach and Downey, City Manager William Holt said.
