30 Arrested, Cocaine Seized in Colombia

BOGOTA, Colombia — Police Monday said they seized 5,830 pounds of cocaine, arrested 30 people and destroyed a huge cocaine-refining complex north of the capital.
The discovery was made during a search for Pablo Escovar Gaviria, the alleged head of the Medellin Cartel, the biggest ring of Colombian drug traffickers.
Police estimated the value of the drugs and other equipment at about $14 million.
