Local News in Brief : Woman Bicyclist Killed by Car in Glendale
An unidentified woman was killed Monday morning in Glendale when the bicycle she was riding was struck from behind by a car, police said.
The victim, believed to be in her 50s, was riding a bicycle equipped with training wheels on Glenoaks Boulevard just west of Central Avenue when she was struck about 6 a.m., police said.
The name of the victim, who was wearing blue jeans and a pink blouse, was not known Monday because she carried no identification, police said.
She was riding east in a traffic lane when she was struck by an eastbound car driven by Muriel White, 73, of Glendale, police said. She was transported to Glendale Adventist Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Police said an investigation of the accident is continuing.
