A coalition representing women injured by the Dalkon Shield intrauterine device said it opposes the bankruptcy reorganization plan of the device’s maker, A. H. Robins Co., as unfair and inadequate. At a news conference in Washington, the coalition of groups urged some 200,000 women who have legal claims of injury pending against Robins to vote against the plan. “For Dalkon Shield claimants, this reorganization plan is unfair, inadequate and contrary to the law. This plan is a victory for the stockholders and the Aetna Casualty & Surety Co.,†said Karen Hicks, president of the Dalkon Shield Information Network of Bethlehem, Pa.
