Baker Communications Acquires Acorn Press
Baker Communications has completed its previously announced acquisition of Agoura Westlake Acorn Press Corp., which publishes The Acorn, a weekly newspaper in Agoura and Westlake. The purchase price was not disclosed.
The Acorn, with a circulation of 26,000, had revenue of about $964,000 last year, Baker Communications said.
Baker is a closely held newspaper publisher based in Rolling Hills Estates. The company had published five weekly newspapers: Two in Newport Beach, and one each in Beverly Hills, Costa Mesa and the Palos Verdes Peninsula, where Rolling Hills Estates is located. The newspapers have a combined circulation of 170,000.
