Sales Edge Up at Products Research & Chemical
Products Research & Chemical said its fiscal second-quarter profit rose 7% from a year earlier on a 2% sales gain.
The Glendale-based company, which makes specialty chemicals, sealants, coatings and adhesives, said net income in the quarter ended March 31 was $2.03 million, or 25 cents a share, up from $1.9 million, or 20 cents a share, a year earlier. Sales edged up to $24.3 million from $23.8 million.
For the first half of its fiscal year, Products Research’s earnings rose 4% to $3.82 million, or 46 cents a share, from $3.66 million, or 39 cents a share, in the comparable period of 1987. Six-month sales inched up 1% to $46.6 million from $46.0 million.
