National Technical Lists 73% Increase in Sales

National Technical Systems said it earned $328,000, or 6 cents a share, in the fourth quarter ended Jan. 31, as sales rose 73% to $9.1 million.

The Calabasas engineering testing company lost $1.2 million, or 21 cents a share, a year earlier, nearly all of the loss the result of discontinuing its products, soil analysis and research division.

For the year, the company earned $1.2 million, or 21 cents a share, contrasted with a loss of $1.8 million, or 31 cents a share. Sales were up 36% to $29.1 million.
