Calvin Long outleaned Raymond Stewart at the tape, and Florida ended Texas Christian’s streak of 24 consecutive victories in the 400-meter relay at the 94th annual Penn Relays at Philadelphia.
Florida had a time of 39.29. Dennis Mitchell gave the Gators a five-meter lead on the third leg, and Long fought off Stewart’s challenge. TCU had the same time as Florida, but Long was two inches ahead of TCU’s Stewart.
