INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC FROM THE COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG COLLECTION. Clementi: Duetto in F. Handel: Trio Sonata in F. Abel: Sonata in D. Wodiczka: Violin Sonata in D minor; other short works. James Darling and Thomas Marshall, keyboards; Kevin Bushee, violin; Herbert Watson, flute. The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, WSC 117 (cassette). The instruments are the reason for this recording, but it is the lithe, sprightly performances of mostly unfamiliar, mostly very attractive pieces that make it a joy. Intonation and ensemble suffer a bit in some of the faster movements, but stylish aplomb never forsakes the players and their efforts are captured in clean sound.
