Lesotho’s King Reimposes a State of Emergency

MASERU, Lesotho — King Moshoeshoe II on Friday reimposed a state of emergency that was struck down by Lesotho’s Supreme Court two weeks ago.
The state of emergency, first declared Feb. 15 to combat what was described as a politically inspired crime wave, will remain in force for six months.
