Community College Roundup : Waldrup Leads Saddleback in Golf

Saddleback College’s John Waldrup shot a two-under-par 70 and had a hole in one, to lead Saddleback to an Orange Empire Conference victory at Torrey Pines Monday.
Waldrup, the conference player of the year, has averaged 71.8 strokes this season. Saddleback finished at 367, defeating San Diego (382), Palomar (396) and San Diego City (398).
In nonconference softball:
Saddleback 1, Moorpark 0 (14 innings)--Winning pitcher Patti Taylor improved her record to 27-2, leading host Saddleback with 13 strikeouts and 3 hits. Teammate Joy Tiner hit a home run in the 14th for the Gauchos (28-3).
In South Coast Conference tennis:
Golden West 6, Mt. SAC 3--Golden West’s No. 4 singles player, Mark Montybarrie, defeated Jim Noveck, 6-0, 6-3, and No. 1 doubles team of Marcelino Rosales and Peter Kelley defeated Juan Garcia and Tim Kekalos, 6-1, 7-5, at Golden West. Golden West is 12-8, 9-3 in conference.
In South Coast Conference volleyball:
Golden West 3, La Verne 1--Freshman Dean Cunningham had 15 kills to pace Golden West (11-5, 9-5) to a 15-7, 15-8, 8-15, 15-7 victory at Golden West.
