Sunkist growers were told that marketing trends and consumer concerns about health will provide them with opportunities over the next several years to expand their markets. David Bernstein, Sunkist vice president for fresh fruit, made the comment at a growers’ workshop in Exeter, Calif. He said that by the year 2000, the number of retail store owners will shrink through buyouts and consolidations, leading to fewer but bigger buyers.
