KARACHI, Pakistan — Pakistan on Friday lifted a curfew imposed on Feb. 29 on the Shah Faisal colony near Karachi airport, a government statement said.
The curfew was imposed after five people died in rioting between Mohajir migrants from other parts of the subcontinent and Pashtuns from Pakistan’s northwest.
At least 350 people have died in violence between the two ethnic groups in Karachi, the country’s biggest city, during the last 18 months.
