Local News in Brief : Santa Ana : High School Students to Hear Drug Fighters
A federal prosecutor will team with a pro football quarterback at Santa Ana High School on Friday in a program designed to alert young people to the dangers of drug abuse.
The event is part of a national Department of Justice program to educate high school students on the medical and legal consequences of drug use.
U.S. Atty. Robert C. Bonner and Los Angles Rams quarterback Jim Everett will be the speakers.
The hourlong program, called “It Can’t Happen to Me,†will include the viewing of a videotaped message from President Reagan, said Mary McMenimen, spokeswoman for Bonner.
McMenimen said the programs are being offered to high schools in Los Angeles and Orange counties.
The program is scheduled to be presented later this year at La Quinta High School in Westminster.
