Edmonton Oilers forward Glenn Anderson was fined $500 for a match penalty incurred in a Stanley Cup playoff game last Saturday.
The fine, imposed after a hearing with Brian O’Neill, National Hockey League executive vice president, is the heaviest allowed under the league’s collective bargaining agreement.
Anderson was penalized for high-sticking Steven Rooney of the Winnipeg Jets.
