Sights From the Zoo
In the article by Shirley Slater, “Australia Bicentennial Is World-Class Party” (March 6), she mentions the Tyranny Zoo. However, the zoo in Sydney is the Taronga Zoo, not the Tyranny. In any case, she is right about the view of Sydney seen by the giraffes (and people) from the zoo.
The opera house, the Sydney tower, the bridge, the Rocks, the circular quay, etc., are beautiful sights. Visitors can get to the zoo by ferry or bus. Go to the top of the entrance and take a leisurely walk downhill (about 1 1/2 hours) to the lower entrance, where you can catch a ferry or bus back to your hotel. And Sydney has a fantastic rail system. As for hospitality, you can’t beat the people of Australia.
