Visalia Mall Sold, to Be Expanded
Long Beach-based Newman Brettin Properties has bought the 325,000-square-foot Visalia Mall from Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. for $16 million and plans a $5-million renovation and expansion of the project.
Newman Brettin will add a 44,100-square-foot fashion court to the property, connecting a free-standing Gottschalk’s department store with the main mall. The addition will provide space for as many as 30 new stores when completed next year.
