Spotlight on Imagination
From April 23 to May 1, Orange County will be the site of a mammoth exploration of creativity called the “Imagination Celebration,†a countywide arts festival for children that will feature workshops, exhibits and performances in public libraries and schools, museums, major shopping malls in Mission Viejo, Westminster, Anaheim and Santa Ana and in the Laguna Niguel Regional Park.
Activities during the nine days of the celebration, now in its third year, will include several special events at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa, among them:
* Free performances by the KanKouran West Africa Dance Company, a Senegalese troupe, in Founders Hall on April 27.
* An Orange County Philharmonic Society presentation of the Los Angeles Chamber Ballet in “The Little Prince,†with admission prearranged through the schools, in Segerstrom Hall on April 27.
* A Pacific Chorale Festival, featuring high school and college chorales, in Segerstrom Hall on April 30. A nominal fee will be charged.
