Esperanza Is Third at Golf Invitational

Esperanza High School had a team score of 797 over two days to finish third in the Western States High School Golf Invitational Tuesday at Rancho Canada Golf Course in Carmel Valley.
Westlake (762) was first, Marin Catholic (787) second and Huntington Beach (802) fourth. Valencia (833) was eighth, University (842) ninth and Western (933) 10th.
Jamie Nellow of Westlake shot rounds of 70 and 74 for a two-day total of 144 to win the individual championship.
