U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested 58 suspected illegal aliens Tuesday along East Chapman Avenue, an area that has been a frequent target of immigration sweeps in recent weeks.
Police said immigration agents picked up the workers between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Workers in search of a jobs as carpenters, dry wall installers and landscapers often gather on Chapman Avenue and neighboring streets in the city’s east side.
