Grant H. Morris, a professor at the University of San Diego School of Law since 1973, has been chosen acting dean of the school. He will replace Sheldon Krantz, who will resign in May after seven years in the post.
Morris, who was acting dean in 1977 and 1978, will take office Aug. 1 and serve until a new dean is selected by a national search committee formed earlier this month by USD President Author Hughes.
In September, Krantz announced his intention to resign. He plans to spend the next year working on a book, tentatively titled “The Future of the Legal Profession” and serving on the American Bar Assn.’s Criminal Justice Council.
