Wilson, Young Lead UCLA to 96-67 Win in Track Over Cal

The UCLA men’s track and field team defeated California, 96-67, in a Pacific 10 conference meet Saturday at Drake Stadium.
The Bruins (6-0) were led by junior David Wilson and senior Kevin Young, who won two events apiece. Wilson took the hammer with a throw of 206 feet 1 inch and also won the shotput. Young won the long jump and the 400-meter intermediate hurdles.
Junior Danny Everett was another standout for UCLA, qualifying for the NCAA meet with a time of 45.65 seconds in the 400 meters.
Cal (5-1) was led by double winners Mike Harris (high jump, triple jump), and David Ottaway (1,500 meters, 800 meters).
