50 Families Camp at Sale in Camarillo

Nearly 50 families camped on-site overnight last weekend and more than 300 potential buyers lined up for the Saturday opening of Palmeras, 121 golf course and mountain view-oriented townhouses in the community of Camarillo Springs in Camarillo.
An additional 800 persons had signed up on the project’s interest list. The result was a sellout of 92 homes in Phases 1 and 2 by the close of the weekend, with prices ranging from $127,900 to $144,900, according to a sales representative, who added that remaining units will be offered in May.
The response was due to a combination of factors, according to Pat Young, sales agent for the developer, Barclay Hollander. “The Camarillo location adjacent to an 18-hole public golf course, the city’s controlled growth, allowing a maximum of 400 new homes to be built each year, means that demand typically exceeds supply.”
