Apartment House Fire Kills 6; 6 Others Hurt

NEWARK, N.J. — Six people died early Saturday when fire swept through a three-story apartment building, and at least six others were injured in leaping out of windows to escape.
The dead, all Dominican Republic natives believed to be from the same family, were found in the kitchen of a third-floor apartment, where they apparently were trapped by the flames, fire officials said. The cause of the fire was being investigated.
