The Colleges : Community College Roundup : Cypress Men Dominate Singles Matches to Even Conference Mark With Win

The Cypress College men’s tennis team won five of the six singles matches to wrap up a 5-4 Orange Empire Conference victory over Riverside Thursday at Cypress.
John Swaino won the No. 1 singles match over Mike Bennett, 6-3, 6-2, to lead Cypress (4-7 overall, 3-3 in conference play).
In other Orange Empire Conference tennis:
Saddleback 9, Rancho Santiago 0--Ed Peregrino of Saddleback defeated Khien Dao of Rancho Santiago at No. 1 singles, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, to lead the Gauchos. Saddleback is 6-0 in conference.
In South Coast Conference tennis:
Golden West 5, El Camino 4--The No. 3 doubles team of Monty Barrie and Cahn Ho defeated Greg Key and Raphel Garrid, 6-3, 6-0, to give host Golden West the victory.
Golden West’s Peter Kelley defeated George Kovacs, 7-6, 6-4, at No. 3 singles to lead the Rustlers (7-2).
