Paul Steven Mack, arrested in Salt Lake City after police followed a tip generated by a national television show, was extradited to California to face charges in the death of a beauty queen. Mack, 39, is charged in the 1987 slaying of Karen Grace Winslett, 21, of Carmichael, who disappeared in February, 1987, shortly after winning the title of Miss English Leather in Las Vegas. Her body was found in her sports car at a North Sacramento motel. Mack was arrested after a woman who had watched Fox Broadcasting Co.’s “America’s Most Wanted” program, recognized Mack.
