Rancho Buena Vista tied the score, 2-2, when Greg Anderson singled in Steve Valencia in the seventh inning. Herbie Weston (1-1) allowed one earned run and struck out eight for Vista (5-5) and Kris Kjeldsen was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs.

Fallbrook 11, Hood River (Ore.) 0--Jamie Willcox allowed just one hit over five innings and Dirk Fisher hit a grand slam in the sixth to highlight a 13-hit attack for the Warriors (5-2) at UC San Diego. Mike Gainsborough had three hits and drove in a run for Fallbrook, which scored in every inning but the second.
