Local News in Brief : School Hearing Canceled

The Los Angeles Unified School District has canceled a public hearing on proposals for a new master plan for bilingual education that was scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. today. Hearings will be held on April 7 at 6 p.m. and April 21 at 5 p.m.
The board will review the proposals during meetings scheduled over the next several weeks, with a final vote planned for May 5.
The public may attend the review sessions, which will be held in the board room at 450 N. Grand Ave. downtown today and on April 7, 14 and 21 at 2 p.m. and April 25 at noon. The meetings also will be taped for same-day broadcast at 9:30 p.m. on KLCS-TV, Channel 58.
