Quarter horse jockey Roy Brooks, who rode the runner-up horse in last year’s $2-million All American Futurity, was suspended after stewards at The Downs in Albuquerque, N.M., found a pair of electrical devices in the jockey’s possession.
Julian Luna, the deputy executive secretary for the commission, said a hearing for Brooks has not been set.
Brooks was the jockey aboard Elaina Rae, a 2-year-old filly who finished second to Elans Special in the All American last September at Ruidoso Downs.
