Baseball : Lookabaugh Wins Again for Orange Lutheran

Ward Lookabaugh had a no-hitter through five innings and finished with a three-hitter as Orange Lutheran High School defeated Faith Baptist, 8-1, Wednesday in a quarterfinal game of the Serra baseball tournament.
Lookabaugh is 3-0. David Elliott was 3 for 3, including two doubles, and Chris Minogue hit a solo home run in the first inning for Orange Lutheran (6-2).
Orange Lutheran will play Bel-Air Prep in one semifinal game today at 3 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park in Commerce.
In the Colton tournament:
Bloomington 7, Canyon 5--Bloomington (4-3) scored three unearned runs after a walk, two errors and three singles in the second inning to win the Colton tournament final at Yucaipa. Canyon (4-2) scored three runs in the first inning, but Bloomington’s Steve Osretkar hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the inning to tie the score. Ronny Simmons got the victory and Marty Little (1-1) took the loss.
In nonleague games:
Loara 5, Magnolia 0--Five pitchers combined on a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts for host Loara (3-3). Craig Clayton (2-1) pitched the third inning for the victory. He also had a single and two RBIs.
Newport Christian 3, St. Margaret’s 2--Phil Cook walked, stole second and scored on a two-out single by Jon Bahnsen for Newport Christian (2-0) in the bottom of the seventh inning at TeWinkle Park in Costa Mesa. Ryan Tovatt was 2 for 2 with an RBI and Donovan Whitworth (2-0) pitched three scoreless innings of relief for the victory.
Mike Flather was 2 for 3 with a home run for St. Margaret’s.
La Habra 8, Whittier Christian 3--La Habra (4-2) scored two runs in the first and three in the third to beat host Whittier Christian (0-5). Dan Pineda (1-0) got the victory.
