Poly Officials Nix Doroteo’s Attempt to Play

Juan Doroteo, an All-East Valley League shortstop and pitcher from Grant who transferred to Poly this semester, will not play for the Parrots, Poly Athletic Director George Tideback said.

Doroteo, a senior right-hander, reportedly had moved into the Poly enrollment area, but Poly officials said they could not confirm the move. Tideback said they found Doroteo at the Poly-area residence twice but also back at his residence in the Grant area another time.

“We couldn’t verify his address and it voided his chance to play,” Tideback said.

Doroteo, who is currently attending Poly, cannot return to Grant and play, Tideback said.
