Israeli judges deliberating in the case of accused Nazi war criminal John Demjanjuk allowed the defense to reopen the record and submit new evidence. Defense attorney Yoram Sheftel said the new evidence casts doubt on testimony from five Treblinka death camp survivors who identified Demjanjuk as the camp guard known as “Ivan the Terrible” from a 1942 photo. The judges scheduled a court session for Monday to allow both sides to review the new evidence.
